    morning folks. can avast be configured to run scan automatically as on once a week-daily at a certain time? thinking of trying it. tks for replies. frank.

    Yes, you can create scheduled tasks(scans)

    Actually that is true only for the paid version. The free edition lacks a scheduler to perform regular scans - though an alternative is to use the feature that scans your PC when the screen saver is on.

    Go to the display settings screen where you usually configure your screensaver options, and select the avast! scanner as your screensaver.
