    me too had repeated bsod's on my pc and the forum is full of problems....

    Did not expect such a buggy version from them.

    tried to install the free version last night and it froze my computer. Had to reboot into safe mode to remove it.

    I didn't had any prob with the previous version. I had upgraded from the 1426 version from the GUI itself i.e checked for updates.

    Only had 1 issue. Emergency Updater was not showing in the taskscheduler on Win 7 64 but was there in the program files avast folder.

    There is a thread about this in Avast forum. Users mentioning EU not showing in taskscheduler on Win 7 64 but showing in scheduledtasks on XP.

    Do you mean on XP it shows but on Win 7 64 it doesn't shows?

    my problem was install was perfect. On reboot tray icon would not load and system became unrespnsive. In task manager the 2 Avast services were running. Reinstalled, same issue.

    Ah hell, might as well work with them to resolve it.

    I just updated Avast I used the updater in Maintenance /update, I noticed high CPU activity (90-100%) I restarted several times no it is back to normal.

    After applying service release update, emergency avast updater now shows in taskscheduler on win 7 64.
