Avast seems to be slipping--should I think Norton?

I'm a paid user of avast and really like it but the testing the last few months has been going down in detection and removal (AV-Comparatives). I left Norton a year ago because of the extras it places and leaves on the computer and avast! was really doing good in testing.

Now Norton is great in testing and seems light and their Internet Security is basically $9 cheaper than Avast's. I believe in paying for and supporting good companies. I'm using a trial of Norton and can find no fault thus far, but I'm hoping Avast 7 will address detection rates as Avast as themselves said.

I know there are a lot of options, but I'm liking these two the most so I would appreciate any one taking the time to jot down a thought or two as to what they would choose one over the other.

    Thanks

I'd wait for avast! 7 and then decide. If there are no results, then go for Norton.
