Avast Pro 4.1 Anygood?

    Umm, GermanKid, look at the most recent comparatives on www.av-comparatives.org and tell me that Avast beats NOD32. And btw, 100% ItW detection today doesn't mean 100% ItW detection tomorrow. Even though I must admit that Alwil really keeps on top of things, there is always the chance that they will miss something on an update, but you'll manage not to... :p

    And according to AnalogX Maxmem, AMON takes up 5 megs or so. I suppose that IMON would take more, though, but still not enough to slow down my ancient IBM (300MHz Pentium 2, 64 megs RAM, 6 gig HD).

    I think that applies to any AV.

    Anyway, the latest comparative had more to do with heuristic ability than anything. Heuristics are cool, but they don't mean everything. To me, good frequent sig updates and a reliable recovery database speak loudly. Either way both AV's mentioned are worth keeping an eye on.
