In all honesty, I don't have to wonder about that.
Maybe what you mean is, you have to wonder about that.
To my thinking, this nice little Pirate Talk adventure that avast! put out there for people is going to generate a lot of new business for them.
A case could actually be made for Pirate Talk being responsible for increasing their R&D dollars.
But this is putting too much serious thought into the whole thing.
If you can simply enjoy it for what it is
then you have understood their goal... in my opinion! ;)

I don't know exactly who is responsible for "Pirate talk", but some of the translations are made by volunteers. You've still got to finalize and test them of course.

Nice to see the humourous side of Wilders :thumb: :D

The Avast! Forum also seems to have nice people there.

    Hey!

I just went to Softpedia and found that version 5 (free) comes with Chrome bundled! But I already have Chrome!

Guess I have to look around some more?

The Chrome installation is fully optional (i.e. it's not a compulsory part of the installation process), and if you already have Chrome installed, I believe it won't even be offered to you - as it wouldn't make much sense to install it twice, would it ;).

Thanks, i_g, I was more bothered about the increased download size. I was hoping to avoid that.

The increase in size is about 500KB - it's not the whole Chrome included in the package, only an online Chrome installer.

The increased download size is just a stub downloader/installer (about 250kb from memory). If you get your installer from the source, the "multi-lingual" download comes from an avast! server rather than redirecting you, but it is larger than the others.

You need to show hidden files and folders. In windows 7 go to control panel>folder options>view and show hidden files and folders. Then navigate to C>program data>alwil software>avast5>sounds.Just take them from there and add to your fav av or add your own sounds there.

In case you're using XP (and avast!Free), the location is ...
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\sounds\1909
