Excellent protection from Symantec, the BitDefender engine products, and AVG. All at 6/6. Kaspersky lost 0.5 points. MSE at the bottom of the barrel, ahead of only AhnLab.

    Quick observations:
    AVG Anti-Virus 2012 Free - Excellent results.
Eset Smart Security - Failed Certification
Webroot - False positives creeping back into results

Yeah, it is. It seems like the behavior blocker, sandbox, cloud, etc. has not done much to improve their scores.

For the paid solutions, Symantec and Bitdefender are probably the way to go.

Sorry to contradict you, Sandboxie is the way to go.

Sorry to contradict you but to the thread isn't about sandboxie. clocks was referring to the correct subject matter and posting in the proper context.

What is wrong with ESET?... 0.5 for repair. I don't get it, really.

    Thanks.

Like Hammer, I don't want to get off topic, but Sandboxie(which I own a license to) is very different from a AV program. If I unknowingly download a virus, and move it from sandboxie to my regular desktop, it will not detect a virus etc... It's better for drive bys, etc...

Im wondering why the home version of mcafee has such different results to the enterprise version.

Im also thinking what the results of eset would be if they used their rescue disc for cleaning rather than the installed product.

I swear, Eset totally sucks. I now understand why version 6 is here because they alreay knew the results. I am going to try out F-Secure or just say screw all this and load MSE up and forget about wasting my time even caring anymore.

ESET, you really have lost all ideas of what it takes. Geez.................:thumbd:

There were some in March but none in April. I believe the first test coincided time-wise with the FPs we had with AV Comparatives so it looks like it was fixed.

    Good Evening! Just uninstalled Eset Smart Security...and re-installed N.I.S. 2012. Can't believe Eset's lackluster results...Sincerely...Securon

AVG has been testing well for the past 1.5-2 years. Really improved since they added the behavior blocker.

These results from Esset was not something weird for me.. it deserves it.

a toy which still doen't know how to clean files. i'd rather bitdefender even the beta version.

    best regards.

0.5 for repair is really frightening. Has anyone from ESET given some excuse as to how it happened?

But I'm sure next results will be totally different and people will jump to conclusions from those.

All I know is Avast! is doing well on AV-Comparatives dynamic test, and is over 95% on that real-time Dennis Labs test.

Kaspersky always at the top. Therefore, it is not necessary to change AV software after each test release... :D
