Avira was lighter than I thought it was.

avast! finally where I felt it on systems for long time but in charts it was still somewhere in the middle. Now it's at the top.

Hmmm... Which AV to choose? The lightest is also the best at detection... Hmmm that's a toughie.

Funny, I switched from ESET to F-Secure's "FS Protection" beta, and it feels even lighter.

I wish Norton participated. It would interesting to see how they compared. I'm running Comcast Norton Security Suite on my laptop and it seems even more responsive than when I had Avira Free 2016 installed only a few days ago. Browsing is lightening fast too.

Thanks. Yeah I saw this and that's what made me finally try the latest Norton. It's basically the same as the new version of Norton 360. Chrome doesn't seem to use as much resources as it did with Avira running. I like Avira, but the realtime guard caused high disk use for a few seconds after laptop came out of hibernation.

Avira is the lightest and has the best detection, so that's a great start. You can add COMODO Internet Security for HIPS and Firewall, and you'll have a very decent protection.

Sadly they haven't improved on cutting down the bloatware and PUPs they push to the users with their free Antivirus product (and even paid products last time I checked).

From #1 to #10 do you see seconds or minutes improvements?

It's garbage meaningless numbers, if you do not compare to a known standard. Like Wow that was fast, compared to what a kitten or a corvette?

Very much agree! :thumb: At least I found it significantly lighter than Avira on 2-3 systems.
