The summary table for AV-Comparatives.org's May 2006 retrospective test is available now. Only Bitdefender, GData AVK, NOD32, and Trustport scored advanced plus on the test. The latter three also scored advanced plus on the February 2006 on demand test.

Just the overview table (http://www.av-comparatives.org). But I suggest to wait for the report of next week, in order to know why some products got the level they got. ;)

It’s forbidden to make those tables available on other sites....Bubba~ :p

Looking good for avast!, didn't expect them to score this high. For the rest, let's await the full report, like IBK said :)

Thanks for the head start IBK.

Symantec's standard rating doesn't surprise me in the least.Norton is getting absolutely killed by TROJANS!.

What's wrong with Dr Web? I can't understand what the problem is. They are adding definition rapidly and, last time I checked. the hueristics engine was improved a olt in order to reduce false positives. Why then did it only get an "advanced" rating. I have to say I'm a bit concerned. Hopefully I'm just over analyizing things.

wait for the report to know why it did not get advanced+ ;).
in the meantime read previous retrospective test reports etc. (adding samples rapidly does not help in a retrospective test).

I'm shocked. You linked to a page on the site other than the home page. I thought that was against the site's policy. Well, rank hath its privileges.:D

Well, since BitDefender got A+, and GDATA AVK uses Kaspersky plus BD, and Trustport uses Norman plus BD, it seems no surprise that the latter two would also get A+. So, it would seem it is NOD32 and BitDefender who are the A+ engines for retrospective tests, but I will wait for the complete results before drawing any conclusions. :D :D :D

    Generic Signatures are also heuristics...

Of course that your test is not a pure heuristic test...
Generics are also very import to detect new threats that have similar code, and this is also, like you said, some kind of heuristics.

But I'm referring to have the same heuristic level of NOD32, and that avast! doesn't have.
Maybe on the v5.0 or later...

    IBK,

This test will also have the report about the false-positives, right?

Geeez, just when I get KAV 6 running smoothly by not installing the Web AV portion, and my computer is humming along, I have to read that KAV went from Advance + to Advance. :( Well it looks like I might be going back to NOD32. :doubt:

My AVG is still doing well, not the best, but good enough for me. I'm not an advanced+ user either. :)

BitDefender and NOD32 engines have got Advanced+. However, TrustPort uses Norman Sandbox 2+HIVE. Therefore I suspect it is going to be NOD32 first and TrustPort second.....:doubt:

Don't worry too much, Graystoke. This is an on-demand test, the proactive defense in Kav/Kis 6.0 works in real-time, only the heuristics is used in this test, you have nothing to worry about concerning this test.:)

:D it is ok to post _this_ link here, as I will watch this forum and explain things if really needed.
what i do not like (and even I do not post) are links to the results (php) or links to the pdf's (especially if not allowed by me ;)).
