I don't know Mr. Russinovich personally but IMO, there is not much about Windows he doesn't know. MS recognizes his expertise too (as Ron's article notes.) He may arguably be one of the most knowledgeable Windows people on the planet.

FWIW... I had not read your quote before but I agree with it. I have never seen any non-marketing related, objective evidence that automated registry cleaners make consistent, reliable improvements to a PC's health. Some auto cleaners are probably safer than others but many seem to be quite aggressive (which IMO, translates to scary!) Anyway, whatever the case may be, I steer clear of allowing auto registry cleaners free reign on my PCs...
