    Hi Everyone

i have recently upgraded to Windows 10 x 64 bit (from Win 7) and find that I hampered by the mandatory Auromatic Updates in Win 10. Looking on the web there appear to be a number of registry based solutions but none that I have been able to get working.

I simply want to be alerted when updates are available and then choose when to download them. Can anybody advise me of a working solution.

I have, as of tody the latest Win 10 operating system update.

    Thanks

    Terry

Do you have Pro or Home version installed?

In Pro version you can use Gpedit to configure Windows 10 updates, but I don't know if this is possible to achieve in Home version.

No group policy editor in the home version. The registry has to be set manually. The other option I can think of is O&O shutup which can completely disable automatic updates and might be able to switch the download options.
