What exactly does this setting do? Reading in the forums it seems like this is supposed to be enabled, but when I installed it the default was it being off not on. When I try to turn it on stuff starts acting weird. Even though it isn't check the real-time scanning seems to be functioning, if I take a known detected sample and copy it onto my desktop or something it is detected immediately. I'm wondering what function this setting serves because everything seems to work fine without it and acts weird with it on.

Hi, this setting just turns on the real-time scanner when your pc starts. Can you provide more detail about the abnormal behavior?

Couldn't it be that you installed EAV over NOD32 v2 where you had automatic AMON startup disabled? Some older version had it disabled by default because of potential conflicts with other real-time scanners.
