ATI 10, Windows XP. Scheduled task - incremental backup when my computer shuts down. Works perfectly well (as far as I know) for a few months. Then it decides not to. Now, it either doesn't do the backup at all, but just shuts down - or it does the backup but doesn't shut down afterwards. I have not changed the settings for this task in any way - it has just decided not to do what I have told it to do. Any ideas?

Please, no offence, but nothing about batch files and such. Like 99% of computer users, all of whom need backup software, I have no idea what a batch file is, how to write one or what to do with it - and, more important, I have no desire to know. The point of buying consumer software is that it does what you want without your having to know about such things.

Have you tried recreating the task? Sometimes a TI task gets "corrupted" or otherwise messed up (usually for no apparent reason) and doesn't work properly.

Thanks - I've done this several times, and after a while the same thing happens. I've decided to change the settings so that it backs up at a specific time instead of on shutdown, and see if that works.

    Hello Johnbax,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

It's possible that some recent change in the system (Windows update, software installation) has interfered with proper functioning of Acronis True Image. Please make sure you use the latest build (4942) of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software.

We may also recommend you to update Acronis Scheduler as described in this post.

    Thank you.
