    Hi Acronis support team
I already own the ATI 2009 home sw.
From acronis site, I downloaded the latest update numbered 9769

    The I tried installing this.
First time it said that I had an old english version and I should uninstall it.
Ok, I did so, but this unsinstall needed from me to use registry cleaners as I could not uninstall it (it was a version ATI home 10)

After that, I restarted the installation and I get systematically a message like this one in French:

"The installer has been interrupted before ATI home has been completly installed. You need restarting the installer to retry. (see attachement error message (in french))"
    So, to get this:
    1. I click on the "TrueImage2009.9769_s_fr.exe" file
    2. I have presented a window with several options (see attachement Installer welcome screen)
    3. I choose "Install Acronis True image home"
    4. I get the above message, almost in 5 seconds.
Systematic. Occurs also after a reboot

Note I have ATI home 2009 French installed.
I run Vista 32bits homle premium

So, my question is what file shall I delete to make the installer running properly?

    This problem is very painful

    Thanks.

    Patrice.

    Hello,
I encountered the same problem in ATI 11 Dutch version.
It is a problem of administrator rights. Try this: open cmd prompt as administrator. Type; "net user administrator /active:yes" (whitout quotes).

Restart your computer. Now you will see a really administrator account near your user-acount. Open as administrator and install ATI for all users.
After installation you can hide the adminstrator acount via cmd: replace yes by no.

    Hi Slesseman,

Thanks for suggestion, but it changed nothing.

It seems that the installation process is still seen as active and the installer refuses to make a new one.

So, does anyone have another idea?

    Thanks.

    Patrice.

    Hello Patrice_bambou,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image Home 2009

Use the following KB article to completely uninstall Acronis True Image 10.0 Home then install Acronis True Image Home 2009.

If the issue persists please provide us the following information:

    1.Launch the product installation file
2.Once the Acronis product installation screen appears, right-click on the name of the component that fails to install. You should see two options there: Install and Extract. Select Extract
3.Select the path for extracting the component and click Save
4.Go to the Run prompt (Start -> Run) and issue the following command: msiexec /i path&msi-name /l*v log-name.log, where path&msi-name is the name and path of the file you extracted in steps 2-3 and log-name.log is the path and the name to the log file you want to save the output to. For example, msiexec /i D:\AcronisFolder\AcronisTrueImage /l*v D:\log-name.log
5.Reproduce the problem and send us the log file created during the installation (it will be created on D partition).

    Best regards,

    Hello again Acronis support

So, I just unistalled Acronis TI from my PC, all cleaned up. Reboot.

Tried to install any version now: no installation works now!!!!! Any installation fails immediately saying that "the installation has been stopped before ATI has been installed".

So, for now, I am without the tool and unable to restore anything.

Please, give me a solution to my problems: what makes the installer stopping?

    Waiting for your answer.

    Patrice.

    Hi,

I have already made a msi installer cleanup and no changes.

Installing other programs has no problems.

IMHO, this is surely related to ATI installation: it is the only program where installation fails!

    Hello Patrice,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image

Please perform the following steps to install the program:

    1. Remove Acronis True Image by means of Acronis Clean Up Utility (if there is any).

    2. Temporally disable your Anti-Virus software (you should disable the Internet connection first).

    3. Manually delete the content of the following folder: C:\Users\[account_name]\AppData\Local\Temp

    4. Disable Windows User Account Control (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account On or Off -> Uncheck “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and reboot the computer.

    5. Launch the installation file of the program again and install the program.

    Thank you.

    Hi all,

Finally I had many problems with my Vista installation (in other areas like disk recognition for instance).

So, I restarted installing all my system from scratch and all things work fine now.

    Thanks for your support.

    Patrice.
