    Rebooting has caused my machine to now hang due to Acronis' loader.

    I tried rebooting and using F11 but at that point I get a screen filled with ASCII characters colored red, green blue and black.

    I wanted backup software to HELP me in a disaster - NOT CAUSE ONE.

    Hello Shakes268,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please make sure you use the latest build (4942) of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating.

    Please try booting your computer using Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and see if the problem exists there.

    If no: Most likely the problem is something caused Acronis Startup Recovery Manager to install incorrectly. Please try deactivating Acronis Startup Recovery Manager from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. If unsuccessfull, please fix/restore your hard drive's MBR either by booting the computer from Windows installation CD and issuing the 'fixmbr' command in Recovery Console or using one of the methods described in Acronis Help Post. After the problem is solved, please check if your installation package downloaded correctly as described in this post We would recommend you to check your hard drives, memory and other computer components for errors.

    If yes: It's likely that Acronis Linux drivers used in standalone version of Acronis True Image (i.e. Acronis Startup Recovery Manager, Acronis Bootable Rescue Media full variant) do not recognize your hardware well. Could you please collect some information to let us investigate the problem thoroughly?

    Please also create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    If you not able to create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) then please do the following:

    - Boot your computer from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and press F11 key when the selection screen advising you to select either "Full", "Safe" or "Boot into Windows" option appears.
    - After you get the "Linux kernel command line" prompt, remove the word "quiet", click on the OK button and choose "Full Version".

    When the screen stop scrolling please write down the output information you receive (last 5-10 lines), or use a digital camera to make shots of the output screen. You can use Shift+PgUp and Shift+PgDn keys to scroll the screen manually.

    Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
