Astrill VPN speed question

    I wasn't sure where to put this so if mods or admins need to move it that is fine. Anyway my question is why over MEGA (https://mega.nz/) do I get faster speed on my ISP when connected through the Astrill VPN ? I don't get it. I get only 100 to 300KB/sec without VPN and 6 to 7 MB/sec with VPN.
