Enter the Apple M1X processor
Moving Apple computers away from Intel processors is an ongoing process, with the first M1-powered Macs landing last November. The next step involves Apple’s second-generation chip. It’s supposedly an improved version of the original, likely dubbed the M1X.
Redesigned 16-inch and 14-inch MacBook Pros
Even if they didn’t come with a faster processor, there’s still be plenty of anticipation for a new round of macOS notebooks, as they’re supposedly getting significant redesigns.
A bigger iMac
Earlier in 2021, Apple replaced the 21-inch iMac with a super-slim 24-inch version built around the M1 processor. It’s possible this device will get an upgrade to the M1X.

Mac mini speed bump
If Apple does unveil a new chip, it only makes sense to put it into the Mac mini.
AirPods 3 at last
Obviously, AirPods aren’t Macs. But Apple supposedly has a new version ready to go and these might be on the docket for the Apple October event, too.

An Apple October event? Or maybe November.
Please note that almost all the leaks and rumors about these new devices come with vague time predictions. Generally, they point to releases this autumn or before the end of 2021. This means there could be a big Apple event in October to unveil them, but it could happen later instead.

I wonder how much they are going to charge for the new MacBook Pro's. I think I would be willing to buy a MacBook Air if it wasn't for the ridiculously high price. For 1000 euro I expect to get at least a 512GB SSD with 16GB RAM, shame on Apple. And I need a smaller iMac not a bigger one, can't stand those big screens.

New MacBook Pros Likely to Launch at Apple Event This Month, Says Gurman

After its first event of the fall, Apple is on track to hold a Mac focused event within the next month, where it will debut brand new MacBook Pros with a faster "M1X" Apple silicon chip, an updated design, and improved display technology, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman says the company is poised to announce M1X powered MacBook Pros within the next month, noting that "Apple typically does its major new Mac introductions in October. So stay tuned." In the paywalled section of the newsletter, Gurman also reiterated what we can expect performance-wise from the new machines.

The Apple M1X chip, the likely name for a more graphics-intense and professional-focused M1 chip, is indeed still on tap for 2021. We'll likely see it show up first in a new range of MacBook Pros in the next month and a higher-end Mac mini at some point. The M1X has been developed in two variations: both with 10 CPU cores (eight high-performance and two high-efficiency) and either 16 or 32 graphics cores.
Previous report suggests that alongside the new MacBook Pros, Apple may also announce a redesigned Mac mini.

What to expect at the event
The star of Apple’s October 18 event is expected to be the long-anticipated new M1X-powered MacBook Pros. Apple is rumored to be working on new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that are powered by a so-called “M1X” processor.

The new MacBook Pros are expected to feature a mini-LED display, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, MagSafe for charging, and much more. Apple is also expected to ditch the controversial Touch Bar in favor of a traditional row of function keys. The design of the new MacBook Pros is expected to be similar to the latest iMac, iPhone, and iPad design language with flatter edges.

Apple is also rumored to be working on a new Mac mini with specs identical to the M1X MacBook Pro with up to 64GB RAM, 10-core CPU, and 16 or 32 graphics cores.
