Yes, I'm sure they are pretty fast, but still way too expensive for a laptop with only 8GB and a 256GB SSD, doesn't Apple feel any shame? And I can't stand the ugly webcam notch, how can a company like Apple come up with such crappy design?
Hello @Rasheed187 There's little doubt. I feel the new offerings will be snapped up as quickly as their M2-based ancestors. You know as well as I do, the camera notch is here to stay and Apple's stance will always be “take it or leave it”. I'm embarrassed to say that you get used to it.
I actually think Tim Cook should be fired because of this ugly camera notch. Even if I was an Apple fan, I would refuse to buy Macbooks because of this. It's ridiculous that you need to download an app to fix this problem LOL. https://topnotch.app
Tim Cook is the CEO, not a designer. I bet shareholders are quite pleased with the financial results that Apple produced under Tim’s leadership.
No, I understand this, but at the end of the day, he is responsible for the end result. I'm sure if Steve Jobs wouldn't have approved this design, it would not have been implemented. BTW, did you see the Jobs (2013) movie? I quite liked it. There was also another one which was a total flop, very bad movie, what a shame. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2357129/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2080374/
I have always been tempted by macbooks air and pro, but the lack of RJ45 port is a problem for me. I know there are adapters, but I am used to having my laptop on my knees (with a lapdesk), so I guess a usb-c adapter would not stay in place.
In general, "M" chips are in a league of their own. I expected the M2 to do exceptionally well in MacBook Air but I was most surprised by the M1 in iPad Air where I can easily work with Navisworks models and CAD files. Based on early tests the M3 pushes the performance level up again.
This is the new normal the last few years, you also won't find this on Windows laptops, except for the business laptops. I find it pretty ridiculous too, since I don't use WIFI. Yes, you can't beat the speed of the ARM based CPU's. But it only makes sense if you really need it, I mean I mostly browse the web and my laptop is always plugged in, so I don't need the long battery life.
