So they are advising to uninstall even if you are not experiencing an issue?
And it would be helpful if they would identify the 3rd party software that the patch is in conflict with.
    (I did see Kaspersky mentioned.)

Edit in: Okay, removed KB2823324 from two W7 machines. Thanks for the heads up, Kid. :thumb:

Ignore the offer of the KB on Windows Update, MS may release a hotfix for this. Stand by for more as Microsoft makes information available.

I'll do that. But I thought MS had pulled the faulting patch from their servers. Probably not all of them yet.

I had the issue where Windows 7 failed to start even after powering off and trying again. I invoked the Startup Repair Tool and it has been working fine since then. I'm unsure whether I still need to remove patch 2823324.

I have that patch installed on my computer and it has caused no problems at all.

They recommended that everyone uninstall it.
    That's what I did.
They didn't say to only uninstall it if you were having problems.
With it gone, I'm ready for the new patch.
Besides, with no life to speak of, I've got all the time in the world to stand by and install/uninstall Microsoft patches. :cautious:

That's right, I was unsure whether to uninstall it earlier as I wasn't seeing any problems, but reading a bit more, including this: http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2013/04/12/patch-tuesday-fatal-system-error/

I then thought it best to do as advised, and uninstall regardless. But I see the update is still being offered to users (and installing) as reported in comment to Sophos' article, so that seems strangeo_O

I see it in my updates history, but didn't bother uninstalling it. No problems here at all. And whatever they release to fix it will fix everything whether you have it installed or not. So much for that one... :)

Yep - no issues here! I won't bother to uninstall K2823324 unless it causes some problems.
