Of course, this pertains only to those who actually have the product and use it :)
I have version 5.5.7, without Webroot's antivirus, behaviour blocker or firewall.

323520 'threat definitions' currently. I presume you'd have more if you also have Webroot's antivirus included.

I always update manually, but it seems there have been no updates available for a couple of days.

Knowing Webroot's customer support, I'd rather not ask them.

Back when I used SpySweeper in 2006, I also experienced the same thing. Fortunately, support was pretty good then, and I got a response within a day. Here's what the tech had to say:

The question I posed was about SpySweeper not updating the definitions to the newer ones.

I can see this issue in 5.5, 5.8. and 6.0 (laugh)
one of the main reason about this issue from my experience
    is "Webroot implement inmature dirver"
it seems like After the Getaddrinfo function receives a DNS response,
Getaddrinfo tries to close a socket. At the same time,
the ALE component detects that some pending net buffer lists (NBLs)
exist in Windows Vista. Then, the ALE component puts the socket in a queue.
The socket stays in the queue for 15 seconds. Therefore, the applications
or the services appear to stop responding for 15 seconds or timeout.
So SpySweeper cannot update the defintion file (laugh...)

Today is the same! without many trial check, we cannot update. What a strange and funny security service.

I'v getting network error messages always when I click check for updates, after I sniff the packet, their webroot server had been sending TCP packet with Fin flag to close the connection. very bad service they are !
