Windows XP. I've got Windows power management set to turn off hard disk if idle for 15 minutes but the room where I have this computer is noisy and I can't hear it most of the time. When I feel the HD area on the case it feels like it might be spinning but I've got two HDs and I'm not sure if it's the other one. I thought it might handy to have some software that would show the status of individual HDs. Anybody know of such a thing? Thanks.
There was some software that prevented external hard drives from spinning down. That had a status field which showed whether it was working or not. Cant rememeber the name maybe nosleephd ?
Hey trott, thanks for the suggestion. Tried NoSleepHD but it doesn't show if the drive itself is on or off, just the nosleep mode.
DKHarddrive light has a led icon in a window which shows activity. Also there is an activity log that shows files changing. Doesnt show its off but does show activity.
