Godson wants this screensaver - have been asked to check it out.

It's the System 47 screensaver for Windows from me.com:-

Virustotal gives it a clean bill of health. Seems to have a good reputation. Still as it's a feelgood app. rather than a productivity one, I'd appreciate any additional information before giving him the thumbs up.

Additional info @ time of check:-

    Hello,
If there's doubt, there's no doubt.
You have a feeling it might be not ok - don't run it.

Cheers all, grateful for the feedback :)

Just waiting for one more piece of information.

@Mrk - sound advice of course. I have no reason to think there is anything wrong with the file, site, or it's creator. Overwhelmingly the information available suggests the download is clean and the screensaver well received. I'm just taking that bit of extra care - no point him asking me if I can't say I've done that.

SiteAdvisor is a version behind, but gives an insight into the limited nature of the install. I also came across what appears to have been positive, if dated, mention from Chris Pirillo on Lockergnome. There are no reports anyware about the file being destructive. Just someone concerned that there may have been infected by a 3rd party site which hosted this file amongst many others.

I think I'll end up going the same route as 'eniqmah' and running it in an image of mine for a few days just to see how the install goes and if it's doing anything it shouldn't.

    Tks
