As for myself, I'm purely addicted to movies - although probably not as much as some other people. I'm trying to find those people...

Anyway, I'm sure that there's a load of movie guys/girls amongst us, so I'll try to get a thread going for movie trivia - you are allowed to check on the net and there's also no way anyone could ever stop you (unless they had a spyware program that detected you were cheating at MY trivia, which would allow me to send a signal to slap your face with a HUGE digital puffy hand), but it would be an idealist's dream that you all just try to cook up the information from your own heads.

So anyway, here's a quick trivia question.....

Who are the three main actors that appear in both 1997's Grosse Pointe Blank and 2001's American Sweethearts...?

Ok I'll give you a hint - Max, Apu, and a grey-haired/balding shrink...

    p.s. Hmmm... ok - www.imdb.com

Well I would guess......John Cusack, Hank Azaria and Alan Arkin. Thank you Google! :D. Now one for you; My favourite movie is Cool Hand Luke (1967). Now (1) Who beat Paul Newman to a pulp in a fight in the yard? (2)What did Luke eat to win the bet? and, (3)Why was Luke in Prison in the first place?
    Have fun,
    Brad.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS... google! So should I send 1,000 Snickers bars to the google staff or what?

Secondly, in response to your question... I'm not a pensioner so I wouldn't know :D.

    I'll guess:

    1. Clint Eastwood beat him to a pulp.
    2. He ate a can of worms.
    3. He was originally in prison for killing the Sherriff?

    Now I'll check google.

I guess I'm a little out of my league here, something I dredded would happen. So I'll just sit it out until we hit cerca 1980... :ninja:.

    p.s. .... damn.

  8. Um, I belive it was Petronovich Suckov and Maggie Thatcher that lit up the silver screen in that classic. Suky had previously achieved modest fame for his portrayal of a fiery cannonball in a performance of "The Overture of 1812".

    Play on, Vlad

You were very very close there Vladski baby.....but just not on the button....by the way, Suk, as we who new him well, did NOT play the 'Flaming Cannon-ball' intentionally....he was supposed to have been disguised as a Cannon (Brilliant make-up job) but mis-read his lines with regard to the word "Fire".....a dreadful end to a sparkling career...... :D

LOL, unlucky him. Was that the start and finish of his career?

Anyway, I've got one. It's a bit more modern... up-to-date.... less old... as you might have guessed. Anyway:

Who can name the musician/actor found in such movies as Heat, Johnny Mnemonic and Bad Boys II, who has a tendancy to 'shout a lot' on stage?

p.s. he also starred as himself in a recent PlayStation 2 game featuring US rappers.

  12. Well, this thread is about "Show" Business.

    Vlad (The....ouch.....Impaler)

  13. I bow to your superior wisdom Sir. By the way, was it Flynn and O'Hara?

    Play on, Vladdie

LOL. I know what you guys think of this generation's stars, and you know what? I think it also :D. No unfortunately it wasn't the ever-vain P. Diddy, but the ever-versatile hard-head, Henry Rollins. For anyone who doesn't know who he is <

  16. Um Bucky, If you were 66 when you arrived on this planet what year were you born? This conumdrum needs sorting out.
