wanted to know if there is and antivirus companies that use both cloud based scanning and signatures to find malware.

KIS has a popularity rate @ KSN

and the HIPS is calculated also based on that rating.

The original poster was asking about ".. uses both signatures and cloud to find malware" .

He did not use the term cloud scanning. He did want to use the cloud as an aid to find malware.

Noob , next time DONT jump , sit tight and learn .

Kaspersky Lab has introduced cloud related features in their 2011 products:

    1. KIS gets whitelist information about unknown executable from KSN cloud.
    2. It identifies and shows popularity of applications based on their usage percentage in several counties via KSN cloud. It is like rating applications. Any application not having any rating in KSN cloud is suspicious.
    3. It uploads detected malwares information to KSN cloud. Unknown files (executable, dll etc.) might be uploaded for further analysis. Therefore, if heuristics or proactive defense finds something suspicious, KSN cloud will help you resolve the issue quickly. If it is suspicious, you will signature updates. If it is non-suspicious, your application will be whitelisted.
    4. KSN cloud might also collect generic information about running processes to identify an unknown process and analyze it.
It is very good cloud addition. KIS 2011 by default decides automatically about applications and KSN cloud supplements it a lot. So, KIS 2011 uses both signatures and cloud to find malware.

    Sorry man.
Anyways next time you don't have to take it so personal :p
I was just Shocked because i didn't know KIS introduced cloud features (I accept i was wrong in my post because i though the thread author was asking for "cloud scanning")

So, in conclusion i wasn't attacking you man! Just impressed with KIS new feature :D (I never took my time to read KIS 2011 Features)

BTW, if that can be taken into account, then EAM could be considered too (Rating system based on users)
    Norton TOO!

As far as I know KIS 2011 (and 2010) does also have some kind of cloud scanning, at least I've seen the pop-up "Detected malware using the KSN service" while testing KIS in my VM.

The big three freebie champions (Antivir, avast! and AVG) are yet to jump on the 'cloud assisted' bandwagon. Even MSE has something of this sort - DSS (Dynamic Signature Service).

And considering the China is the most populated country... you can get the picture. But it also matters how it uses the cloud. Besides, most of cloud data are basically reversed signatures.
