Don't know if this is even necessary, but apart from Norton is there anything else I should use? Thanks :)

McAfee has a version for mac. But do you even need an Av? I don't know enough about it to say, but Iv'e seen posts here at Wilders on the subject that suggest you don't need one at present. Just keep the OS fully patched

Thanks The Hammer, I'll have a look at that one too:) I've just seen that there is a scanner called ClamXav, but there doesn't seem to be much on the internet regarding security programs.

Thanks Ronjor, that looks a good site have bookmarked it. :)

Thanks too i_g, I like Avast. As I'm new to Mac I'd better wait till it's full release or I won't know if it's me or the antivirus if something looks odd.

It's a pity my beloved NOD doesn't have a mac version, I would have thought there would be.o_O

Thanks Donkid that's another good one. You'd think all these big companies would have brought one out sooner.

Do we even need an antivirus product for a mac? Has that been established one way or another? I know The Inspector plays around with a mac. So I wonder what he and others think.

    Hello,
No need for anti-virus for mac. Just like there is no need for anti-virus for linux.
All you need is to update your system regularly and a strong root password.
