After recently using AVG Free and now the latest updated version of Antivir PE, I don't feel there is as much, if any difference in my PC performance like there was between them in the past, with AVG Free being lighter at the time. I did have some slow down with my programs opening and logging onto FireFox when I used Avast and AOL AVS, but never with AVG Free, or now with Antivir. I think AVG Free may still have the edge in this department, maybe because of the way it scans in RealTime compared to Antivir, but I think it's almost too close to call now. Just wondering what anyone else thinks about this, as being light on system resources was always one of AVG Free's attractions, at least for me. Thanks.

AntiVir 7 with max heuristics is at least for me as fast as AVG if not even faster...

Both have had minimal impact on my systems, but I haven't used AVG very much, do I don't know very well how heavy it runs.

That's true although really, any AV would catch p2p malware if it tries to run. That's why you can run Avast with just Standard shield and be pretty much fine.

The only difference I believe I see, is that when logging on or off I think it was faster when using AVG Free.
