Boy this sure sounds like me. I use to be a BIG Fan of Nod32, then my friends box got slammed with viruses and malware, and NOD v2 didn't even protect the box and was hijacked, and I was really disappointed, well v3 need I say anymore then ---> BUGS! :(

Use to be a Kaspersky fan, chkdsk, mft, iSwift, etc.,etc., need I say more... :(

Right now I'm using Avira PE Premium, doing good so far... :)

Avira Premium, and Nod 32 are the only ones that i like, and i've tryed them all. Both have very good proactive detection and are light on resources.I curently use Avira.I had big security problems in the past while using other av's,i've lost imp. data, probably if i had one of these 2 then ,things would had been different.

How is that reply more boring than a reply that says "Using NOD32, oh boy! :thumb: :argh: :D "? To me, it is more interesting in fact, because it makes me think about how truly awful most anti-virus software is, and how it has used more of my time and money, and caused more grief to me, than any malware is ever likely to do.

I have tried most of them and hated all of the ones I've tried. Most recently, ESS and KIS have shown to be bug-laden products, and I can prove it with standard software testing methods, which is something I get paid to do when I'm not wasting hours of my personal time on garbage "anti-malware" software.

I'm truly considering going with the HIPS-only approach. (Haven't had any AV installed for weeks as it is.)

I hope that wasn't too boring of a post.

I think I must have a mental malfunction when it comes to AV's. I can't seem to quit changing. My actual favorite Antivirus is Norton but after a little while the urge to change AV's attacks. Anyone know a good unchanger antivirus MD specialist :D I have gone back to NAV 2008

Interesting choice I know this old scanner, nice simple gui and fast.

I actually use AVs only on demand: Avira, DrWeb, EScan, PrevX
