KAV for AV, and a hardware firewall.

Good recommendation. And maybe add a free software firewall to control outbound connections. Any of these are very good: ZA, Kerio, Sygate, Netveda, to name but a few.

So G-Data AV uses both Kaspersky and Bitdefender Would that be better than kaspersky alone. What are the Differences

You can see quite a number of setups with the link in my signature.

My personal choice is Nod32 with Look 'n' Stop as part of a layered defence.

    Cheers :D

Best AV: KAV, NOD32 or McAfee

Antivirus choices are abundant, I'm more towards NOD32 and KAV. For a firewall, having a software firewall is your choice..(Outpost is good, also Sygate), but at the very least..have yourself behind a router which provides basic hardware firewall protection from the outside (NAT). I won't support any clients unless they are behind a router.

For antivirus Kaspersky Antivirus Personal 5 or Eset Nod32.For firewalls the best is a hardware firewall in my opinion nothing can beat that.

For an AV I would vote for NOD or Bitdefender. That way you get both Reactive and the increasing all important Proactive, zero day, coverage.
