AV also detects Spyware (please specify) Nod32
I chose Other only beacuse I use multiple scanners (not at once, of course) as a comobo for high detection rates and a little bit of infection clarification (two detects, the other does not, what the ... ?). However, I do use Spybot S&D as my primary anti-spyware. All the others are just to assist and back it up. my combo of programs are easy, customizable (to an extent), quite, and simple !!
Why use spybot search and destroy as your main antispyware. It is quite a weak product in terms of detection and tis tea tiemr consuems a ltofo resources.
AdAwareSE (although I want to drop it)
I want to swap AdAwareSE with AVG AntiSpyware, but AVG isn't compatible with my OS
Ad-Aware SE Personal
Voted none. Spyware can't survive on my computer, there is no water.
BOClean real time memory scanning and SuperAntiSpyware free for the occasional scan.
Real Time: Trend Micro Anti-Spyware, Comodo BOClean, Spyware Blaster
On Demand: AVG Anti-Spyware
I plan on replacing Trend Micro Anti-Spyware with SuperAntiSpyware in the near future.
None...CCleaner cleans the only things those scanners ever found.
Though I guess I need to look into SuperAntiSpyware going into 2008 due to the amount of votes it received here on Wilders.
Counterspy= On Demand
A-Squared Anti Mallware= Realtime
Spyware Blaster. Why wasn't it in the poll?
I used to use Spybot also but 1.5 is a disaster and 1.4 crashed on a detection that was nothing and I reported it and it was never fixed. 1.5 crashed on it too besides other numerous problems so I had to uninistall it and I only have Spyware Blaster now. But I use Avira Premium and it covers spyware and Avira really doesn't like it if we use anything else.
Waste of time.
Nod32 does the job.
I didn't include it in the original poll because I only wanted to list AS that run in real-time. Otherwise, we'd have to list HOSTS files, firefox extensions, etc. Additionally, there is a limit to the number of items you can list, and there is an Other option that can be used for these situations.
I use Sandboxie all the time when browsing the web. Now and again I check with Spybot, just to be sure but never find anything. Also sandbox Thunderbird just in case any nasties come in there.
SUPERAntiSpyware, although only for on-demand until 4.0.
SUPERAntiSpyware Has my vote
SUPERAntiSpyware and the AS functionality of ZoneAlarm Security Suite.
a-squared Anti-Malware 3.0 for me.
Separate names with a comma.
