    Hi,

I have question, I just migrated to Vista x64 and I'm looking for a antivirus with build-in anti rootkit technology that will work in this environment (or if there is no such product - standalone one). I've heard something about lack of proper API - but I can't believe that there is no ant rootkit solution available for 64bit Vista. Or maybe I'm wrong?

I have KIS 7 and Bitdefender 2008 installed on 2 Vista 64 machines and both have a rootkit detection module that seem to work fine. At least the scanning part is working :p

I thought one of the features of x64 systems was they were immune to rootkits due to kernel patch protection? Is that not the case??

    Try this freeware setup:

UAC on in quiet mode and installer recognition off
WindowsDefender, create restore on + scan off
    VistaFireWallControl 1.3 (Vista FireWall off)
    Avast
    HauteSecure soft sandbox
