    Hello all,

I'm thinking of creating a anti executable that uses the file path to block EXE's You would Whitelist or Blacklist folder paths depending on what you want to do.

Would anyone find this useful? It wouldn't be nothing fancy just something simple that blocks exe's/processes.

    Thanks
    Brock

I think there are enough anti-exe programs available with that capability.

You can already do that with Group Policy in windows. However, it becomes a full time job to manage as legitimate programs will use all sorts of areas to do their job. I set it up, and within a month disabled it permanently.

I used Voodoo Shield for a year on paranoid mode to battle Windows updates, and I thought, for malware as well; without any appearing on my system. You really need to have it ask you anytime anything happens to use it effectively. I found it fatiguing.

Well done for thinking about this, and all ideas are worthwhile, but it has been done before. As I have posted in other places, I have moved away from a siege mentality with malware to one of 'so what, if my computer is infected, I can deal with that', with more of a passive approach to avoid the inconvenience.

Windows Applocker, Appguard, NVT's ERP/OSA/SOB, etc...

    Plenty already.
