Would be very grateful if someone could tell which of these files are important or which can be biffed.

    Regards

    Hi there,

There are two things that need to be done before we can proceed:

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Unzip HijackThis into this folder. When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary. Delete the old copy please.

After that, restart the computer because Ad-Aware needs that to be done to finish cleaning whatever it was fixing.

After that, post a new hijackthis log from your new permanent folder.
