Another "safely remove hardware" restore failure

    I too have had the error others are reporting when restoring entire disks.

    "safely remove hardware" causes a crash and certain self unzipping executables are also causing errors.

    I have done a repair install and while it fixed the safely remove hardware problem, my executables still arent working.

    What can I do now?

    Curious -- You did a repair install of windows. Did you then run all the MS updates?

    no, I didn't

    I hadn't added any updates before the backup though

    Please notice that we haven't heard about any problems with self unzipping executables. Could you please describe it in more details (which executables are affected, what exactly happens when you try to run them, where are they located) and also post a screenshot of an example of such failure?
