    Hi
I am a new member - Can anyone help with this problem:
Having installed Spyblaster, when I go to my ISP's homepage an annoying message appears: spybot S & D reports that you want to download "double - click". This is a known threat. Do you want to block this download? If I select "yes " or "no" I still get the same message each time I return to my homepage. I can surf but this is just annoying. In the bottom of the page is "a bad URL http://ad/uk doubleclick.net/adi/fs and the page appears half down loaded.
sorry this has been longwinded: I tried to disable the protection from this restricted site but this has not made any difference help!
    Sahara

    Hello Sahara....Welcome to Wilders [IMG]

As you may be aware....that is a function of Spybot's IE Resident helper feature.

Those downloads....and in your case doubleclick....are concerning cookies. If your not concerned about blocking doubleclick cookies....I suggest you consider selecting Block all pages silently in Spybot via the below instructions.

Go into Spybot-S&D > Immunize. Look in the last section labeled...."Permanently running bad download blocker for Internet Explorer". If...."Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer" is checked....you are running Spybot's IE Resident. In the pull-down below it there are three options:
    • Block all pages silently
    • Display dialog when blocking
    • Ask for blocking confirmation

    Thanks Bubba
Before I got your reply, I uninstalled Spybot s&d, and all spy/adware removal programs on the advice of my isp. It of course solved the problem! but as i dont want spy/adware i'll have to reinstall them all again! Will use your advice in the setup and installation.

    You are kidding right?

I think given such bad advice it would be time to get a new ISP, one that has at least some security sense...

    Cheers :D
