    Hello,

Could you, please, help me with the annoying installer I have on my computer. Each time I reboot my machine (even if it is disconnected from the internet) I am getting the starting page changed to www.thebestse.com , also it adds the favorites and some icons to the desktop. Spybot finding three registry key infected. After cleaning everything related to thebestse and infected registry key I still getting this garbage back after reboot. TDS-3 didn't find any Trojans. Ad-aware too. Also I ran cwshredder.exe

Please take a look at my hijackthis log:

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Delete these files

    C:\WINDOWS\sstyle.css
    C:\WINDOWS\system\systeminit.exe

then reboot and post new log to see if clear

    Hi renvok,

You only have one item left to fix.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

Then reboot in Safe Mode and delete the following:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

    Regards,
    Kent

Dont worry about the blank html file it's noit an important one

I have no idea what windows/system/RDB16.EXE is

it might be legitimately needed for some application or it could be bad

please copy, zip it & send it to me at the address on the spykiller site in my signature and we'll have a look and see if we can find out what it does and whether it's good or bad

It's something to do with a Dell System it says inside it OptiPlex Latitude PowerEdge

So I would leave it alone
