Login issue : Yahoo.com/?guccounter=1 attached to my.yahoo log-in is the above switch, which is very very long. normal in field is: my.yahoo.com Not my.yahoo/?guccounter
and now some more text please, what you do where, enter what where, and the annoying part which is not clear visible. where is the research of yourself? took only seconds: https://www.google.com/search?q=guccounter did this answer your question? and no, there is nothing we or you can do.
?/guccounter - appears to be adware, aka 'GUCE', tried MBAM, Hitmanpro <all machines> previously edge-synched to a desktop, 2nd machine GUCE seen AT 2nd pc laptop. The first machine shows: my.yahoo.com <fav bar edge> laptop gets: yahoo.com/?guccounter=1............ GUCE - hunt could not be found <all up-to-date> BD, EEK, HMP, MBAM, & RK byTgzy Guce is a re-direction of 'my.yahoo' on this machine, from Edge...
GUCE pc#1 home page shows: my.yahoo <URL field> pc#2 home page shows: my.yahoo.com/?giccounter... <URL field> the re-direction is to my homepage, re-saving URLs should resolve, GUCE it was not detected multiple scans, could GUCE be friendly software addition?
FYI - It appears GUCE can be called up, if a 'saved URL/Pass' from a password manager has a conflict with 'webpage', so enter GUCE the re-director. It's easy to see this as malware, it does not come up as malware web or scan. Also GUCE is used by others including Google, the common denominator is the 'saved URL'. Note this can be somewhat confusing with multiple machines.
to ask: is that something in your browser? i just tried yahoom . com and my . yahoo . com, and had no guce consent. either its ublock, or "consent-o-matic", or firefox (ofc it can handle consent now). i have left lycos and yahoo over a decade ago and never visited again, and its microsoft now. there exist better news and mail services.
The password manager + web page, both need GUCE. Perhaps password writers, purchase GUCE to use in Website. The user could have messed up the URL (me), but still be allowed to arrive at the proper destination.
The final update shares are rather interesting imo. This is how: After moving out of suddnenlink.net range, I changed the primary/secondary primary account holder, for my Windows. switching primary/secondary account holders' email addresses caused partial, blending of holders. Old stuff occasionally popped up, Nord acted strange, and odd url's, and some login problems, noplace to sign in to one machine, but the other machine had no problem same login. And sometimes the one that could log in could not the next day, and the other could. Trade machines could one day could not the next. I found at Edge > settings a profile for suddenlink isp. The machine that could not log into one site (always just one login) was using suddenlink's profile to bring up the page & fail, as non-existent Final solution: as remnants of old ISP, causing problems, reset Edge sync data. That remnant delete suddenlink was my ISPed, contained decades of scores from the only game I play MS Solitaire, which I began playing when. Quite a learning curve for me! All is Well!!!!! Thank You Wilders!!!!!!!!!!
