So just how effective and reliable is it?

That's right, even i can raise some questions about computing from time to time. LoL

Sounds very interesting. Even more so if it will support other imaging software than their own.
I have a license for 7.x but never got it reliable on my machine, hopefully there is some discount for
us who has the previous version. I really like the Rollback concept with lightning fast creation of snapshots and low space requirements.
A bit like Power Shadow on steroids.

That's right up my alley. LoL

I think Rollback RX is a very interesting tool and I had no problems with it on my virtual machine. But I´ve read on this forum that it´s not reliable for a lot of people, will they fix these things in the new version?

The concern that you are referring to has been fixed a while ago: eazFix/Rollback RX - The Case Of The Defect Snapshots.

Thanks for letting me know, now that it has been fixed I will definitely consider buying the new Rollback RX, especially the ability to backup snapshots sounds cool, but how will this exactly work? TIA ;)
