    Hi,
will Nod32 protect my system without the new Microsoft patch? Have tried it but not happy with all the warning boxes. Used Acronis to restore my system to earlier state.

NOD32 will prevent all special crafted ANI files from running and downloading other malware.

There are some known issues with the Microsoft patch and outdated drivers.
    (e.g. Realtek HD audio drivers)

Update your drivers to the latest and there should be no problem with the Microsoft patch.

Greetings all, long time reader, first time poster here.

I wanted to point out that even with the latest drivers for my Realtek ALC882 on my Asus P5WD2 Premium motherboard, the MS patch still causes trouble and keeps my Realtek HD audio manager applet from loading or being able to be launched manually. Solution for me was to uninstall patch and all audio stuff was working as normal again. I guess maybe we now need a patch for the patch from Microsoft.

p.s. I want to say thanks to all who make this a great forum for research and learning about security issues.

    Best regards,

    Weezur

    Welcome to Wilders !

Just click on the link in my post just above your and you'll find that Microsoft already released a fix for this issue . In all cases , NOD32 very well protects against this threat.

EDIT : You were first to repost :D . Hope you fix your problem , and thanks to Blackspear who started the thread in link ;)
