Webroot and VIPRE constantly hang during scanning process and can't be tested.

Any reason why Lookout was not included?

    Yes , good point.
Also why is ESET ( poor results  ) not down as charged. On google play its says free, however it is a 30 day trial.
I have Dr Web light on nexus 7, might swap to Avast.
I assume these are all infected apps, not infections from web pages, so if you stick to the official google site, you should be fine. Possibly some of these apps are cracked paid ones too

Surprised DR WEB did so bad. Is IKARUS free or paid?

BitDefender did horribly in this test. Any reason why?

Too bad Webroot couldn't be made to work properly. It works well for me on Jelly Bean. Did they try to contact Webroot Support? They are usually quite responsive.

How about False Positive tests. Ikarus had good detection even on Windows, but they SUCKED at False Positives. I wonder if its the same here.

Also surprised that Lookout is not included. Maybe they SUCKED real bad and decided to pull out

I'm quite sceptical about the test. If a product detects about 30% of samples in a particular test set and > 95-97% in all other prestigious tests, then there's likely a problem with the particular test set itself. We'll try to get hold of the used samples for verification which is fundamental for deeming a test trusted according to AMTSO principles.

Over the past year I've read a lot of horror stories about people installing various AV apps on mobile phones.
Some had to do complete system wipes to regain access to their phone.

I installed Kaspersky Mobile 10.1.32 on my Motorola Razr Max running Android 4.1.2 about 2 months ago.
So far all is working well. I have noticed in the Kaspersky forums when a new Android version comes out there can be problems.

So it's a good idea if using any mobile AV to check out the forums before
upgrading to a new Android version.

Only problem I had with Eset is location and slowing down the device. Did not test any Android malware samples.

I am hoping that they improve upon this, and also get a web interface. However its not free, so careful if you install it.

    Well, i-m really tempted to.
I don't do it because it may screw up Kaspersky and also may screw up with my Galaxy S III functions, such as S Beam, NFC etc.

I was using just avast! but while it may detect malicious apps accurately it failed to warn me about stupid notification ads. Something DrWeb does really well. So i run both together, they don't really make much overhead anyway...
