    And had the world known then of the annoyance GIFs would become, they may have all banded together and gave Mr. Wilhite a bonk on the head and a loud "No!" :D

    What happened to JPG and PNG? Why don't they get the 'celebrity status' too?
    Anyway, it's funny when you look at the comments on the site as people are debating on the pronunciation despite the creator clearly saying how it's supposed to be....

    Good to know I've gotten it right.

    You mean the animated ones? Well, I find most of them annoying too.

    Yeah, as hilarious as some of them over the years have been, they're mostly just annoying. I don't know why anyone really cares how GIF is actually pronounced, lol.

    I'd say JPEG has far more importance in web history than the GIF.
