I'm trying to test my ISP's network protection which used to block the AMTSO Phishing Test Page but it has either been whitelisted, or the service isn't working. Can anyone suggest a safe alternative? I tried some real phishing sites and Windows Defender Smart Screen blocked them in Edge, so I still don't know if network protection is working on not. I know if I test the AMTSO site in other browsers Norton will block access, but that doesn't help either. Thanks.
Ah ha! I found a site that was successfully blocked by my ISP's network protection. Code: http://malware.wicar.org/ Apparently it does work.
Hmm, tried the same site using Quad9 DNS and it wasn't blocked, possibly because the site itself isn't malicious maybe?
Great link, thanks. Adguard/Sophos blocked some, but nothing managed to block paypal phishing, by nothing I mean various DNS and extensions like Avira, until Avast, which blocked all.
I tried the hxxp://malware.wicar.org , and [initially] I got re-directed to http://www.wicar.org/test-malware.html This is was in Vivaldi browser. This latter site was reported as safe by the Webroot Filtering extension. Not sure what to think.
If you look closely the URL's are not the same! http://malware.wicar.org/ http://www.wicar.org/test-malware.html
I noticed, but I did say I was re-directed. Does that mean one domain is OK, but the other is not? Just wondering. Doesn't really matter, since I don't test or play with malware, anyway. I leave that to the experts!
To BrightCloud http://www.brightcloud.com/tools/url-ip-lookup.php it is but adding malware in front: malware.wicar.org/ it gets blocked. It's a Test site. Code: http://malware.wicar.org/ http://www.wicar.org/test-malware.html Also the files on this site are all blocked http://www.wicar.org/test-malware.html because it adds malware http://malware.wicar.org/ to the front!
That is even better/faster than Avast, thank you. Funny/sad, that OpenDNS runs Phishtanks, yet it fail to block those webpages for days.
Yes, it's quite sad that they don't use their own resources to keep their customers safe... Great to see that you like the Netcraft Extension.
