"Amazon's Alexa credited with possibly lifesaving 911 call...

Based on the victim's statements and a recording of last week's 911 call, authorities believe a voice-activated smart device triggered the emergency call after the suspect had asked the woman if she had called the sheriff.

The woman could be heard during the call yelling 'Alexa, call 911.'..."

    EDIT UPDATE

Story is not accurate. Sorry = fake snooz

From story about another alleged Alexa 911 call:

"... Amazon confirmed to us via email that its voice assistant Alexa does not support calling 911. When we asked if there are any conditions under which this scenario could have occurred with an Amazon Echo Device, a spokesperson added, 'Alexa calling and messaging does not support calling 911, nor is the Alexa calling and messaging service able to connect to third-party calling services to do so.'

There's even an Alexa Skills policy that disallows developers from including the ability to call 911 within their skills."
