    Hi All,

I have a number of laptop users that are "in the field" for months at a time.

What's the best way to keep track of their NOD32 status?

Is it safe to allow access to port 2222 through our firewall to allow those users to report in?

If this is possible, what's the best way to update the config on those remote laptops? Currently the remote administration will be pointing to an internal ip address, which obviously won't work remotely.

    RAS

as with any incoming connection to your network there are some risks. however if you config your firewall to allow it and keep an eye on it i dont see any major problem.

For those remote users that are already out there, they will be pointing to 192.168.2.11:2222 as their update server.

Is there a way to update their config to point to nod32ra.mydomain.com:2222?

Can I send out a config update by email or any other way?

You can send it out by doing a Configuration Task...select the road warriers in the RAC....Config Task...update config. Select your new config that has the WAN IP/DNS alias. Next time they come into the office and "touch" the RAS...they'll pickup the new config.

    BDMC,

Were you able to get this configured and setup? We just purchased the ESET Smart Security edition and are getting ready to configure and roll it out. We have about 90 machines we will be installing on and about half of them are sales reps and service reps that have laptops who probably come into the office and connect to the lan once a month so this would be very helpful. Any tips or insight would be appreciated from anyone.

We are still having the problem of getting laptop out int he wild talking back tot he RAS server, even though the right ports are allow through the firewall.
There must be something else that we need todo for NOD32 clients to talk back to the server. :doubt:
