    It's not just pedestrians ;)

    Some cars already have fake engine sounds. Some BMWs, as I recall.

    And cars are eerily quiet now. Often, it's tire noise that you hear first.

    Yeah, I remember an episode of Top Gear where they mentioned a certain BMW had fake engine or exhaust sound played through the cars audio system.
