Thanks to all the knowledge available here I was able to rid my PC of that nasty little searchx bug, many, many thanks! The lingering result is that IE6 no longer functions properly, and media player no longer functions at all. Any suggestions on nuking IE and doing a clean install. I have already uninstalled back to IE5 and then upgraded again. The lingering problem is that I cannot download any programs from Microsoft to reload Media Player. I even tried downloading Netscape and got the same error; the famous "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". Should I just delete the program file? BTW, I'm running Windows ME an a Duron 1000 w/512 mb Ram.
    Thanks,
    Axeman

Please pick up the thread in question you are referring to - most probably on a different sub forum from this board.
