    Many people have asked how to restore an image of a physical machine to a VMWare virtual machine. I've added a Guide to my website.

    It is intended for advanced users familiar with VMWare and BartPE. I've tested this procedure with great success.

    That looks like a good place to start.

    However, will this process work for VMware server instead of Workstation? Are there the corresponding Plugin to add VMware Tools to VMware Server?

    Sorry, I don't have VMWare Server. I've never seen a VMWare Tools plugin for the Server edition. If you look at the inf file in the VMWare Tools plugin, you may be able to modify it to work with the Server edition.
