Plus. To be honest I cannot remember why. I think it was recommended on the Mozilla site to go Plus so I did. Been on plus since it first came out and I'm happy.

Adblock Plus with EasyList by Rick752

Fast, efficient and updated automatically. No fuss, no muss just add a few exceptions as needed.

I stayed with Adblock at work. I tried Plus and it didn't seem to block as many ads as the plain version. Could have been me though! ;) (I use the Filterset G Updater too.)

ive tried both but i cant say one is much better than the other. i just use the newer adblock plus cause its being developed and what not. coupled with filterset.g it makes a kick ass combo.

Same for me. Rick's list is much better than Filterset G as well. He uses a lot less code, to accomplish pretty much the same task.

I think adblock plus released a new version not too long ago... a few days ago I think. latest version number is 0.7.2.2
The logo now shows the 3 letters: ABP.

The development of Adblock was stopped in 2004 already.

Which is why adblock plus is the best method now for blocking ads in firefox, plus it automatically updates its filter sets/lists.

It's good they are finally getting back to work after taking most of 2005 off - which caused three versions of adblock (adblock, adblock plus 0.5, adblock plus 0.6) by three different developers at the beginning of 2006. The competition in this software is good as the features are getting comparable with both versions but some 'leap frogging' of the feature set is the usual for this type of situation. It really depends on the timeframe which one you may consider better.

Hi, folks: just a side question; I am using Ad Muncher right now, after SuperAd Blocker running into problem w/ new IE7. And never have tried AdBlock or plus. Does AdMucher and AdBlock work w/ same theory or one is superior to the other? Perhaps someone can share one's experience? Thanks.

IMO, Ad Muncher is far superior to Adblock. But Ad Muncher's not free. :D

(I run Ad Muncher at home and wouldn't surf without it...)

The latest Adblock Plus now has a selection of update lists that it autoupdates itself (built in). So many won't need Filter Set G, Updater.

I use neither as the MVPS hosts takes care of them for me.

FilterSetG's website is down at the moment anyway. Been like that for a few days too. You can't force an update to the filterset or anything. I added EasyList to my subscriptions just in case FilterSetG doesn't get back in working condition.

I just checked now, EasyList it included in AdBlockPlus itself, so I just removed FilterSetG.

With the difficulties that Filterset G has been having, looked like a good time to re-think things a bit, so I thought I'd give AdBlock Plus another try at work. So far, so good. :) (I went ahead and set up the Easy List and Easy Element subscriptions at this point.)
