Today for antimalware software people only mention programs like Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, Hitmanpro, and A-Squared but what about some of the original antimalware programs. Lavasoft Ad-Aware was once what people called the number one antispyware, every had it on their machine. Now everyone uses Malwarebytes or somthing similar, but today how good is Ad-Aware?

    Has anyone tested Ad-Aware recently?

    Has it improved detection wise?

    Is it still worth using?

Is it really as bad as people say it is, or is it making a comeback?

The new Ad aware is greatly improved, I tested for about a week and even thought about keeping it but I like MBAM to much.
The new a2 is rightly classified with these others, it is in a different league IMO. It has Dual engine AV/AS, behavior blocker, Web protection, and a couple new features. I think once it is out of beta I will be using it. Now has On-access protection by the way, and the beta is awesome.
BTW for anyone who is interested, the beta will be coming out of private with the next build or the one after, and they are needing testers.

The latest Ad-Aware is unfortunately bloatware - the engine would be ok :)
