It seems as if 1.06 was just released today http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html I am probably going to wait a bit before I update. Usually whenever they release new builds there are several more following behind them within a short period of time.

I wonder if it will be a free upgrade for SE Plus users like me who currently have version 1.05.

Yes, just go to the link contained in the e-mail when you purchased AdAware SE and use the username and password contained also in that e-mail to logon and download the new version.

After removing previous version....re-booting....checking drive and registry for left overs....the install went flawlessly.

Initial scan went well with nothing found. Installed a known favorite of the Adware\Spyware community....re-booted....and ran a scan.

WhenU least expect it....up pops a Misc. item o_O

Removed WhenU....rebooted....re-scanned....and AAW detected 1 remaining object of the initial 197 objects.

    WhenU Object Recognized!
    Type : Regkey
    Data :
    TAC Rating : 3
    Category : Misc
    Comment :
    Rootkey : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
    Object : wuse.1

    Just uninstalled version 1.05.

    Rebooted

    Ran Regseeker

    Rebooted

    Installed the new version, 1.06

    Rebooted

    Ran a full system scan.

It found like 58 critical registry entries!

I seem to be in this continuous loop of late (Bubba knows the deal) where things appear in my IE Trusted Zone, (but apparently are FP's). First it was MSAS, now I guess its AdAware?

I dunno very strange considering my security and the fact that I don't use IE. I will chalk it up as FP's for now however.

    Regards,

    Jag

    Re: Ad-Aware 1.06 released…

Strange... I use SpywareBlaster, IE-SpyAd, and SpyBot's immunize feature and am not getting any false positives at all with the new version of AAW 1.06r1. My scans come up clean...

Just curious but did it find anything Ad-Aware related? Or does the program un-install pretty clean by itself?

Yes sir, it did find some AdAware related stuff, go figure. Nothing critical, but I had Regseeker clean it up anyway.

With regards to my scan, I dunno what the heck is going on with my pc. Its a fresh install of Windows XP as well, but for some reason, it keeps happening to me.

    I use...

    Analog X Script Defender
    BOClean
    CCleaner
    AdAware
Process Guard (Free version as I am trialing it now)
    Spywareblaster
    Spywareguard
    Counterspy

So I am unsure why these entries keep appearing in my registry. I have to believe its some kind of FP or conflict with the software I run. If its not, then I am in total disbelief/shock.

Could you post some of the entries that AAW is finding?

Did you ever take care of the problem you had that was not False Positives ?

I also appologize to Matt_Smi for going OT in his update annoncement thread. Perhaps we should not do the troubleshooting in this thread....but open another one if you feel you need to :doubt:

Just allow it to uninstall the older version and then it will install the new one.

So can i confirm they have definitely put back Whenu on their unwanted list. As i believe i read something a couple of months back about them doing a Alura i.e taking a backhander from them and delisting it (guess the money was good, just not good enough)
