"Active@ Disk Editor is a freeware advanced tool for viewing & editing raw data (sectors) on Physical Disks including Volumes, Partitions & Files"

    Freeware for Windows and Linux.

For more info see their site.

    Latest version 7.3.1

    Is anyone here using it?

Does anyone know whether there is a detailed changelog?
I see only more general changelogs there at the site:
What is new in version 7
What is new in version 6
What is new in version 5

    PS:
The company LSoft Technologies has also another program:
    Active@ UNDELETE
    https://www.active-undelete.com/undelete.html

    Quote:
"Advanced software to recover deleted files and restore lost or damaged partitions".

    It is not freeware.

This one and the previous mentioned program are more for the advanced users and professionals. You have to know what you are doing.

    Active@ UNDELETE — version history
    Version 23.0.1 - Released on Feb 7, 2023
    https://www.active-undelete.com/undelete-history.htm

    If I may, this part:
"Improved recovery of NTFS volumes formatted with large cluster size"
This is what I was talking about in:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/ntfs-file-system-windows-with-cluster-size-64k.449840/

    =====

    Active@ Disk Editor
    Version: 23.0.1 released
    https://www.disk-editor.org/index.html

I suppose that the same issue about cluster size was fixed there too.

As I said, I was already thinking that the large cluster size issue there was now fixed.
Dmitry, the developer of the disk integrity checker ADinf32, confirmed it to me today (thanks Dmitry :thumb: ).
    The issue was there discovered.

Good deal. I rather fancy @Active programs from it's backup application to partition programs & killdisk suite.
