I regularly play around with software in a VM. So Far all of my guest OS have been XP or Linux.

I have an OEM version of Win 7 I would like to install as guest in a my VmWare Player. I do not want to activate it because I will probably want to install it in another machine in the future.

Will it work without being activated? How long?

I assume it could not be updated. Correct?

I work from one Windows 7 disk unlocking all the versions like Vista was, then re-burning an aio iso. You could re-arm to 120 days.

Thanks for the information. I'll try it out as soon as I get my VmWare operating at a decent speed.....May have to try VirtualBox.
